I’ve been doing public speaking, writing, doing presentations and making videos for most of my adult life.
In fact, I was a wedding DJ for over 15 years, the “Mistress of Ceremonies” on the microphone throughout the wedding making announcements.
I was good. Articulate. Practiced. Energetic even.
But it wasn’t until I started reading the couple’s love stories that something really came ALIVE.
Why?
Because reading those love stories touched my heart, and when it did, you could hear and feel it in my voice.
It wasn’t about saying the words perfectly.
It was about feeling them as I said them.
Guests paid attention and it often moved people to tears.
When you come alive, it enlivens your message and people feel it.
Speak from your heart, and people listen.
Share something you’re authentically inspired to share, and people feel it.
When you drop out of your thinking and lose yourself in the message moving through you, people — your people – will be riveted.
It doesn’t always happen the first time, in fact, it usually takes most of us a little “stumbling and fumbling” before we find our voice…
…but it WILL happen.
Show up feeling alive and your message will come alive, too.
