Not too long ago, a friend said to me, “Wow, Stephanie! I keep noticing how much you value simplicity.”

The comment stuck with me. Do I value simplicity?

More and more, simplicity is where I know to look. Whatever it is I’m looking for, simplicity points me in the direction of it.

I wondered if this showed up in my Human Design chart or my Gene Keys, so I took a look. Sure enough, it’s highlighted clearly in my Gene Keys chart.

Gene Key 23 comes up twice. The gift of simplicity.

With each of these keys there is a shadow, a gift and a siddhi. The shadow of this energy is complexity.

For me shows up any time things start feeling complicated. There are a lot of moving pieces. I can feel myself going into complexity and getting tense.

The gift of simplicity brings me out of it, back to the basics of what’s really happening. The minimum that I need to be able to move forward, relax and know, “Oh, that’s all there is to do.” The feeling of simplicity.

The siddhi or the divine expression of that energy is something called quintessence, a lovely word.

Quintessence is the essence of all things, that which is. The holographic expression of life. This is the exalted expression of simplicity.

Now I understand why simplicity is so helpful and feels so good.

When things look as simple as they truly are, because they truly are, my gaze, my attention, is in the direction of the Quintessence of life. The Oneness. The aliveness in everything.

It feels simple because it is. It is what enlivens me and every part of existence.

The Quintessence is the One in the many apparent forms.

I have less and less patience for the complexities that my mind creates and feel more and more drawn towards resting in the quintessence.

From the feeling of quintessence, coming back to this world of apparent separation, everything is lighter and simpler.

Even the complexity of my mind is more spacious for the knowing of the quintessence within and before that complexity.
