Something’s been driving me a little crazy lately.
I often like to start a conversation with a BIG question, such as…
What would make this conversation extraordinary?
What would be the result if this conversation was life changing?
I love the challenge of a big ask! While I can’t guarantee the specific results, I trust that the outcome will be exactly what’s meant to be.
The response I get is usually something like this…
It would be great if I could create my Signature VIP package.
I’d like to identify my niche.
Let’s come up with a new offer and pricing.
These are cool things to do — and I also happen to be really good at them — but here’s the thing.
The Universe extends an open-ended invitation here to order anything off the Menu of Infinite Possibilities.
And you choose an offer for your business?
Come on.
What would you ask for if you could have anything?
Only a few years ago, I was afraid to ask for what I desired. I didn’t know that was even a thing!
A friend of mine said to me, “Do you think you’re more or less likely to get something if you ask for it, or if you don’t?”
The answer was obvious.
I started asking and the strangest and most wonderful things began showing up. Like new partnership opportunities. Invitations to housesits that open up life changing opportunities. An unexpected cure for cramps in South Africa.
Now, this is about WAY more than the (practical, limited) requests people make of me in coaching conversations. It’s symptomatic of a larger trend.
How many times are you asking for what’s “realistic” instead of what you really want?
Personally, I’m tired of ordering off this reality’s menu of what’s-possible-because-I’ve-seen-it-before.
I’m challenging myself to ask for the impossible, to go beyond the edges of this galaxy, into the Beyond-o-verse and beyond to see…
What else is possible?
Break outside your box of limitations, see what’s possible from the Beyond-o-verse perspective…and choose from there.
Then you can get all realistic and practical with your badass self in creating something bigger than you’d dreamed was possible.
Of course, when you dare to order anything off the Universal menu, you don’t know exactly what you’re going to get because you’ve never seen or done it before.
That’s kind of the point. 🙂
