The Awakened Business first came as a simple desire to work and play with people who inspire me.
At the time, I was teaching wedding professionals how to grow their businesses. I loved the people, but the idea of encouraging couples to spend astronomical amounts of money on a single day – one would never meet their unrealistic expectations – was not inspiring. It’s why I quit my job as a wedding DJ in the first place.

I wanted to be a part of something BIGGER that was changing the world on a profound level.
I found myself drawn to the changemakers: coaches, wellness practitioners, therapists, entrepreneurs and teachers with a message of transformation for the world.
But I soon discovered that most of these changemakers were burdened by their calling to change the world. They felt an obligation to make a difference that was often expressed itself as a desperate need for things to be different.
They’d give and give and give, pouring every bit of their strength into their work, and burn themselves out. Or they’d become disillusioned when their efforts to make a difference didn’t work.
As inspiring as their vision was, few of them were able to step into its full potential because it seemed to demand too much of them.
It hurt my heart to see these world-changers handicapped by their misunderstanding where transformation really comes from.
My business now is unleashing the true creative power of these changemakers, so we can join together in creating the change we wish to see, not with pressure and obligation, but with Joy and Play.
We can’t make the world a more beautiful place to live in if we aren’t enjoying the beautiful lives we already have.
I’ve discovered that the secret to creating powerful change in the world is to be ourselves – unfiltered, uninhibited and unencumbered by the stories telling us it isn’t allowed.
When thought drops away, your True Self remains. It’s both ordinary and extraordinarily beautiful.
Here’s one such brief moment:
Last week I was having coffee at an outdoor cafe with my sweetie and a friend. A green-tinted warbler perched on the bush beside us.
The bird tipped its head and looked at me. I looked back, feeling deeply connected.
Without thinking, I took a crumb from my plate, placed it in my palm, and extended it to the bird.
The bird hopped onto my hand, picked up the crumb, and flitted back to the bush.
Somehow, I knew just what to do to create this tiny, magical moment. I was moved by something bigger than me to take an action that only I could have taken at that moment.
This is the essence of Organic Transformation.
When you and I are being ourselves, we change the world. Naturally and easefully. Organically.
It doesn’t require pushing ourselves to exhaustion or fighting the tyranny of the system. It’s enough to simply Be. You.
Anger at the injustice of the world and our efforts to change from this place only feed the war and lead to exhaustion. Creating change in this way isn’t sustainable.
Peace within creates peace without, and allows the energy we need to create transformation at a grassroots level, starting with ourselves.
