A coach friend of mine, Michael MacDonald, sent an email a couple months ago inviting people to a Coffee Catch-up Chat on zoom.
“My intention is to feel closer to you, whatever that looks like. Maybe you’ve got a question or would like a little support. Maybe we’ll geek out about something interesting. Maybe I’ll just share about my experience of life. Only wisdom knows where we’ll go.”
“I’d love to catch up with Michael! It’s been such a long time,” I thought.
And promptly forgot about it.
A month or so later, I received an email from Bradley Morris of Majik Media, with a reminder to nurture your relationships. He encouraged us to scroll through our phone and send a quick message to whoever catches our eye.
So I found the Coffee Catch-up invitation and promptly booked time for a catch-up with Michael.
Then I followed up with two people who I’d invited to a conversation, but somehow the thread had gotten dropped.
It took all of two minutes to reach out, and within an hour I had three new chats on my calendar with people I adore.😍
It’s so easy to get sucked into the busyness of your mind and its unending To Do List.
But connection is powerful. It pulls you out of your head and into caring about something other than your own noise. The world expands and new thought comes in.
Nurturing relationships is also the magical ingredient for growing your business.
I can’t tell you how many of these connections have led to collaborations and clients for me. Not because of an agenda, but because it’s natural to create and play with people we enjoy who care for us.
Wisdom has a way of bringing to mind the right person to mind at just the right time. With that in mind…
