My ex-husband was the first to introduce me to the power of intention-setting.
He’d write down what he wanted to manifest in his journal, in obsessive detail, and focus on it every day. It’s how he claims to have manifested me (nineteen year-old Steph who eerily fit the description of his ideal girlfriend) and the house he bought impossibly while working a temp job six months later.
So when we started our first business together, I took a cue from his example.
I printed out our income intention and posted it all over the house. The fridge, the walls, the doors were decorated with:
“The DJ Solution makes $2,500 a month.”
When we hit that goal, I did it again, updating the signs with $5,000 per month.
We hit that, so I increased it again to $10,000.
It took us months to reach each new income number, but we did it every single time.
A more recent example about the magic of intention came with a sudden knowing over two years ago that I was moving to Portugal.
At the time, I was renting a house with a partner in Florida. I had never even been to Europe (!) and I had no idea how it was going to be possible.
But I followed the first step and planned a visit to Portugal for an event in September of 2022, where I was invited to stay and introduced to an immigration lawyer…and here I am now, a Portuguese resident.
Now the magic of creating what you desire isn’t found in the strategies you employ: writing in a journal, printing out income numbers, booking trips to foreign countries.
The magic comes from engaging your creative power through focused intention and actions taken over time.
Momentum is the phenomenon where the force generated by your actions drives the development of your project forward, like rolling a snowball downhill. Eventually, it accumulates more and more actions until it becomes harder to stop than to keep going.
The formula for Momentum as described by Dave Ramsey (and modified slightly by Michael Neill)
Momentum is Focused Intention over Time, multiplied by the G-factor.
The more Focused Intentions (actions) you take over time, the faster your momentum builds. The G–Factor or God Factor is the intelligence of life, which exponentially multiplies your results at some point through unpredictable events, opportunities and synchronicities.
This is how creation really works.
So if you want to create something new in your life, focus your intention by taking actions. They don’t have to be giant ones.
Print out a mock cover for the book you’re going to write, research airline prices, or declare your intention to a friend – each little action focuses your creative power in the direction of what you’d like to see.
Would you like to harness your creative power for this new year?
That’s what we’ll be doing in REFLECT: Rediscover Joyful Direction, Focus and Ease. It’s a four week journey in celebrating your progress from the past year, gathering the gems of wisdom you’ve learned, and then setting a focused intention for what you’d like to create next.
Of course, my requirement for this adventure is enjoyment. The more joyful your journey, the more actions taken over time, the greater your momentum and the better your results.
It’s a simple recipe for enjoying the life you have now while creating something new. A win-win, no matter how it goes.
I’m so excited about sharing this experience with as many people as possible as we move into the new year, that’s I’m giving you an extra incentive.
Right now, you can get access to REFLECT when you join the IMPACT membership: https://www.theawakenedbusiness.com/impactinvite
Yours in love and play,
Steph
