There’s no better way to demonstrate your expertise and the value of what you do in a client-attracting way than to unleash your inner loveable geek.

I was delighted by this example I stumbled across while going down a YouTube hole:

“How to Hide a Sword In Your Dress.”

The video was created by Jill Bearup illlustrating how you might stick a sword up your shift and still look Wonder Woman sexy.

(Jill also gives a brilliant analysis of the famous Princess Bride sword fight scene for tone, tension, set use and editing in another video I just HAD to watch.)

Holy niche audience, Batman!

Here’s what I find so brilliant about this — besides the amazing writing, delivery, content creation and PUNS which made me an insta-fan:

This channel is about stage fighting in films and TV, a super-niche topic I know nothing about…

…yet within two minutes of watching I knew this woman was an EXPERT.

Wouldn’t it be nice if people instantly recognized your expertise, too?

When you get “geeky” about a topic directly relating to the challenges and/or desires of your soulmate client, with a high level of detail, it garners attention and positions you as an expert.

They know instantly you “get” them, and when you deliver value by teaching them something they can actually use, you quickly jump to the list of people they’d hire for help.

Now, Jill’s audience is fascinated with stage fights and fan fiction, so this content is extremely interesting to them. I imagine they’re a group of stage fighting, choreography and/or movie geeks. (I don’t know how I ended up watching this video…but I was a LARPer in the ‘90’s.)

If Jill had made a video about, say, the different materials used to make stage props, it wouldn’t be nearly so interesting or exciting to her audience.

The reason people are interested in a topic like “How to Hide a Sword In Your Dress” is because a) they love an insider perspective on stage fighting, b) they’re a fan of the Wonder Woman movie or c) they geek out on well-crafted niche videos. (Yes, I’m guilty of being in the last category.)

You can use your inner geek to communicate the value of what you do, and have fun in the process.

Here’s how:

Identify what your ideal clients are dealing with in very specific situations. Break it down into very specific detail, and teach them what they need to know.

For example, if you help people get healthy with a vegan diet, you might tackle the topic, “Vegan breakfast on the run,” and break down exactly what to eat, how to prep, and making it tasty as well as nutritious.

Breakfast is just ONE of the challenges people transitioning to vegan diets have, but it’s probably a big one. You also might talk about, “going vegan with kids,” and “how to eat out when you’re vegan,” and “the polite way to refuse food when you’re vegan…”

I could drop in on any one of these pieces of content and tell right away that you know what you’re talking about by the level of detail and quality of information you share.

Most entrepreneurs make the mistake of being way too general in their content. General is vague, uninteresting and (mostly) a waste of time.

So take a cue from Jill and her swashbuckling video adventures, and geek out on topics that let you showcase, in detail, how you help your clients.

Oh, there IS something missing from Jill’s amazing videos, if we take them as examples of client-attracting content. There’s no mention of how the content relates to the viewer’s problem, and no offer.

(This isn’t relevant for Jill because, apparently, she’s a professional YouTuber. How DOES one get that gig?)

Make sure you connect your transformational content to the problem your clients have that you solve, AND include an offer to contact you for more assistance with it.

So check out the video in the comments below as an example of how to create detailed content about a specific topic to demonstrate your expertise for soulmate client-atttraction.

If you’d like to learn more about how to create content that attracts soulmate clients like this, no hype required, I’d love to help. 🙂
